Back-UPS CS 500

Does it have the capability of turning off unRAID when battery is low?

What am I looking for in the specs to say that low battery will send message to spindown and shutdown unraid?

It is not a function of the UPS so much as it is a combination of the UPS and the software that needs to be installed to tell it what to do.  JoeL. unmenu add-on allows you to install the needed software parts to shutdown the server when needed. You will need the APC package and powerdown package installed to get a clean shutdown of the server when the battery runs low.

Yes I know, but do these specific APC UPS models support the necessary messaging to active the powerdown package (ofcourse after installing the APC package as well)?

Joe..  do you just install the powerdown pkg or do you need to configure anything?

no configuration is needed for the powerdown package written by WeeboTech.  Just download and install it, and then press the button to have it re-installed upon reboot.
