June 4, 201016 yr Hi, I'm ordering one pro license and I need it tomorrow morning (EEST). I've tried to figure out GUID for the usb-stick I'm trying to install the unRAID for. Windows didn't do much good. Didn't get it from Mac either. I tried linux with lsusb -vv and got this: us 002 Device 004: ID 4146:ba63 USBest Technology Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 64 idVendor 0x4146 USBest Technology idProduct 0xba63 bcdDevice 1.00 iManufacturer 1 PRETEC Technology iProduct 2 USB Mass Storage Device iSerial 3 9d620a568f4797 bNumConfigurations 1 Configuration Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 2 wTotalLength 39 bNumInterfaces 1 bConfigurationValue 1 iConfiguration 0 bmAttributes 0x80 (Bus Powered) MaxPower 80mA Interface Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 4 bInterfaceNumber 0 bAlternateSetting 0 bNumEndpoints 3 bInterfaceClass 8 Mass Storage bInterfaceSubClass 6 SCSI bInterfaceProtocol 80 Bulk (Zip) iInterface 0 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x01 EP 1 OUT bmAttributes 2 Transfer Type Bulk Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0200 1x 512 bytes bInterval 1 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x82 EP 2 IN bmAttributes 2 Transfer Type Bulk Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0200 1x 512 bytes bInterval 1 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x83 EP 3 IN bmAttributes 3 Transfer Type Interrupt Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0040 1x 64 bytes bInterval 8 Device Qualifier (for other device speed): bLength 10 bDescriptorType 6 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 64 bNumConfigurations 1 Someone said that the format for GUID is idVendor+idProduct+0000+iSerialNumber I this case I'd figure it would be something like: 4146-BA63-0000-9D620A568F4797 (which is over 27) Don't have the possibility to install the basic as I don't have the hardware yet. This cannot wait until I have the hardware for basic version is not enough in this case. Should I go forward with this GUID and strip it down to 27?
June 4, 201016 yr NO, you need to make sure you get the correct GUID. Just set up the respective USB drive to run unRAID and boot ANY machine from it. As long as the machine can boot USB you can get the GUID. You will then find the GUID (point a web browser to the machine what is booted with the unRAID USB), write it down, and don't touch anything else. Do not assign any drives or anything like that and you should be fine.
