June 5, 201016 yr does anyone know of a 5-in-3 configuration like the below 3-in-2? http://www.orbitmicro.com/global/tc-istorm7-p-2339.html
June 5, 201016 yr Closest I've seen are 4 in 3 devices, such as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817993002
June 5, 201016 yr look at the "pimp my rig" thread in the lounge. i think there are some units like that, pictured in there. (i was going to point out the coolermaster 4 in 3 unit as the closest thing to what you want, but i was beaten to it by someone else) cheers.
June 5, 201016 yr I have been planning on getting these once my 4in3's fill up. I just have to figure a way to mod in a fan. http://www.servercase.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BR2U19 All other 5in3's that I've found are way too expensive. Instead of paying 100 bucks or more for 5in3's, I would just go ahead and get this case, and use my current 4in3's. http://www.servercase.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GHS-2000&Category_Code=AdvServer

July 30, 201015 yr I am thinking about getting a 5in3 but when I do the measurements, it looks like it will be touching my MB when installed due to the size of the case and the MB inside. Does any one know of a 5in3 that is not 'deep' inside the case? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also anyone ever considered a diy removable case?

I just have to figure a way to mod in a fan. http://www.servercase.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BR2U19 I bought one of these to put in my Antec 1200. The way it fit in requires you to mount a fan on the back, and leave the front uncovered. Since I am uncomfortable with this I have stuck with my Scythe 4 in 3s instead. I wish I would have just put money into really cheap Hot Swap backplates instead. Here are some cheap ones of those that popped up on the forum: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994077 $80 instead of the Icy Dock $115ish, but has two small fans instead of one largish one.
July 10, 201411 yr Any alternatives to this?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817198059&cm_re=drive_cage-_-17-198-059-_-Product I don't need a backplane/hot-swap since Unraid does not support it. What I like: Front door so drives are accessible from the front. Drives slide in, no screws Large/Quiet 120mm fan. There seems to be some slight differences: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/icy-dock-black-vortex-mb074sp-1b,27210.html This one has switches to control the LED and Fan and also mentions that it only needs 2 power inputs. Edit: I see...there are 2 versions, a hot-swap version with backplane and a plain cage. I guess the plain cage you would still need access to the back to connect power and data. A 5 in 3 would be nice.
July 11, 201411 yr five year old thread... there are lots of 5-in-3 options now. List some 5in3s with no backplane and front access....
