I. M. Fletcher
I'm not sure if this is an UnRAID problem or XBMC, but I'm going to start here since the problem coincided with an UnRAID hardware failure. So I had the dreaded ASUS LAN failure yesterday. It was my second one to die. Not a big deal though, because I have a spare PCI slot and a couple gigabit NICs laying around. So first I tried the Linksys EG1032 ver 2. Problem with network speeds. I read that this card isn't well supported in Linux so I put in a D-Link DGE-530T. Same problem Here's the problem. It takes forever to start a movie. I'm talking like a full minute to get to the DVD menu (I rip full DVD everything). Then another minute or so for the movie to start. Once it starts it plays fine. No stuttering or anything. This isn't an issue with DIVX files, even large 800 MB ones. I don't understand what is going on. Link to comment
I. M. Fletcher
Well I've answered part of my own question. Everything works perfectly from my desktop using PowerDVD. So it is either XMBC or a combination of XBMC + UnRAID. I'm off to the XBMC forums I guess. Link to comment
