June 9, 201016 yr I have a gigabyte 945 gsm s2 running 4 drives on unraid plus with no problems. I would like to add parity but the mobo ports are full so I need a pci sata card. Does the location of parity on mobo or pci card make a difference? Can they be moved between mobo and sata ? Can anyone suggest a good pci card which is available in the uk?

Does the location of parity on mobo or pci card make a difference? No it does not matter Can they be moved between mobo and sata ? Yes, just assign as needed on the "devices" page. Can anyone suggest a good pci card which is available in the uk? Can't help you there... I'm in the USA. Be aware of the HPA issue with some Gigabyte MB BIOS. It has been the reason some have switched from using a Gigabyte MB where the "feature" is not disabled by default. See here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Topical_Index#HPA
