Hardware Swap?

Featured Replies

Hi all, my unraid box has been running great, but I have a question.

I want to build a HTPC, and my unraid machine has very excessive specs (e5200 + 2gb ddr2 + ati 4350 with hdmi), and I have an AMD Sempron 2200+, mobo and 512mb ram spare, all working. I'd like to swap these spare parts into my unRAID server so I can use the parts currently in it in an HTPC. I would be using 2 PCI RAID cards (The raidcore in my sig and a 4 port one I have spare), and a PCI gigabit NIC. I'd need to swap my cache drive to an IDE one as I would have no free SATA ports.

Would these specs be ok to run my server?

Regards

Ben

I tried it and the speed of the RAID card was horrendously slow (8 drives on a single PCI slot doesnt work well at all :D), but was worth a try anyway
