June 22, 201016 yr Hi all, I have a SMB share set up within the unraid GUI. What I'd like to do is create an additional SMB share, to the same path, but with a different name and/or security. For instance I have Movies set up as with Read/Write permissions. I'd like to create another share, to the same path, called Movies2 with Read only permissions (just an example). Anyone have any info on how I'd go about doing this? Thanks a lot!
June 22, 201016 yr Providing access through samba shares defined through smb-extra.conf file as discussed in http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4110.0 will provide what you need. Export one share Movie2 as read only, and another pointing to the same directory as Movies read/write and hidden.
