BRiT
First, we need some actual information. Which motherboard? Which section of BIOS? Link to comment
WeeboTech
I do not believe it matters much. This is probably a setting for the IDE port. It made a difference in the days of DOS and Windows 95,98,98SE,ME. If you were booting unRAID from an IDE interface, then it might help. I do not believe it makes a difference with advanced operating systems as they use their own drivers which bypass the bios interface. For IDE drives on older kernel interfaces, you were able to set the 32bit interface via hdparm. When set you would see a slight improvement in performance. For SATA drives I believe it does not come into play. If you turn it on, it will not hurt anything. Link to comment
