carlos28355
Ok i am a complete newb when it comes to unraid..i dont even actually have one built yet i am in process of doing so. Ive backed up all of my dvds and blu-rays to 2x2TB wd hdd. Most of the dvds are in the video_ts folders with vobs and what not. although some are .avi from when i first started ripping them. All of my blu-rays are ripped to their folders and put into an .iso format. I am currently using the linksys nmh300 which only has 2 drive bays ( i know lame purchase) for obvious reasons i want to get an unraid system up and running. will i have any problems streaming to an htpc: amd dual core 4gb ram windows 7 ultimate entire home network is a 1gb system. also i want to be using windows media center to stream through. Im assuming i obviously point the wmc directory to my unraid server. is this correct? is there any special settings i have to do for this. Using my nmh300 i have no problems streaming blu-ray no stuttering of any kind. i cant imagine this in an unraid but again ive never using linux or unraid its all new to me. but always up for the challenge. and I have spent alot of time researching this but cannot seem to find this answer. i dont want to waste my time building this if it doesnt do the main thing i want to build it for. thanks for taking the time to look at this post! (= ps if i forgot to mention anything or left out some important info please feel free to ask me (; Link to comment
carlos28355
oops didnt see an edit option. i wanted to mention i use MyMovies for all my metadata and also use this as the interface in WMC to watch my movies. I cant imagine it being a problem at all but i want to cover all my basis. will this work just fine for what im trying to do which is building an unraid server to back up all my movies and allow me to stream them anywhere on my network. i just thought of another ? if im able to stream all this ok if i was for some reason wanted to have the same movie running in different rooms at the same time will it allow that??
