Anyone have any recommendations for long term (1+year) storage of the unraid server? Should I take the HDDs out? Leave them in? Something else?

    Unplug it from the wall outlet, disconnect the LAN cable. 

    (goal is to not have any ESD discharge through the unit from a nearby lightning hit)

     

    Leave the disks in place and connected.  They are probably safer in the server than anywhere else.
