NOOB Question

Featured Replies

Just setup my first unRAID server and found everything easy to configuar.

But just one question to clarify my thoughts.

Any time power is removed from the server, the Parity-Sync / Data-Rebuild has to run????

And it is not advisable to use the server while that is taking place???

The reason I ask is because it takes over 24 hours to run the Parity-Sync and that means the server shouldn't be used for 24 hours???

I live where power is not super stable and even with UPS backups we will power down un-needed systems.

Thank you

If you're pulling the plug while it's on, that's an unclean shutdown. So, yes, it will run a parity sync to detect possible file corruption.

If you're powering it down normally, that's a clean shut down. If you unplug after it's off, then no, it won't run parity sync.

Thanks for the quick response.

After posting I did read the UPS section of the settings. :)
