July 1, 201016 yr A parity check is running. Disk I/O is high. Is it ok to write to the disks/shares while it's doing a parity check, or should I leave it alone until it finishes? Thanks.

July 7, 201016 yr Wow, really? I'd always wondered about this and never did any writes during parity check just in case...that's awesome that it can handle writes during the check with no problem. While we're at it...does the same hold true for a rebuild? Just curious.
July 7, 201016 yr Yes. It is safe to use the array as intended during parity checks, rebuilds, and simulated disk / disabled data disk status.
