Is there a way to prevent "windows touched files" to get executable?

I have some files in an unRAID drive with 0644 permissions and noticed if I edit them from a Windows machine they get 0755 after saving them. Is there a way to prevent this?

Yes. In Windows you need to remove the 'archive', 'system', and 'hidden' bits from the files. This is how Windows maps to Samba permissions.

I resolved the issue by 'smb-extra.conf' and 'map archive = no' in it :)
