[Solved] [6.3.5] Unraid locks up under no load

Featured Replies

Hi,

Description:

Last night my Unraid server completely locked up, no inputs/keystrokes were being accepted and it was no longer on the network. I was still able to access it via IPMI to do a remote restart.

This morning the same thing happened, However I was able to get some information as I had left htop open on the IPMI console. CPU was at around 5% active and RAM was about 60% used. It also completed after the parity check was completed which took 8 hours 20mins (push bullet notification) and had no errors.

I suspect the RAM to be the issue (basic ddr3 sticks), so I'm doing a memtest. How ever if that comes back OK, what else should I be looking for and where would I find it to help assist(eg. logs).

After the memory test is complete, I will be able to get exact HW and software configurations to help assist with this issue.

Other information:

HDD array: 1P/8 Array Drives (73% filled)

Update:

Lasted just under an hour before crashing again and locking up. I was able to get a Screen Shot of the htop screen when it happened. Booting again in safe mode.

When I tried to update to v6.4 the entire system went down and now no longer powers on. This kinda leads to a HW issue over SW. Last message I got was that the CPU temp spiked to 92c then nothing. So I think the system dead.
