July 4, 201016 yr I have been using Unraid for several years, but in February, upgraded several of my home machines to Windows 7 and built a new Unraid server using the SuperMicro MBD-X7SLM Motherboard. Since February, I've been struggling on weekends with a problem where when ripping or copying files (even using Teracopy) the unRaid system would lock down, and I'd have to reboot. I was sure it had something to do with Windows 7, then my Supermicro SATA card, the harddrives, etc. but nothing I tried seemed to work. Finally, after stumbling upon a couple of posts in the forums, I popped in an old PCI GB off-brand NIC card I was no longer using and the problem is solved. I don't know what the problem is with the NIC's on the Supermicro motherboard, but I want to make sure the resolution of this problem gets posted in case anyone else is using this motherboard. I'd also be interested in knowing why the onboard NIC is such a problem. Thanks for everyone's help!
July 4, 201016 yr What version of unRAID are you running. If memory serves me correctly, there were issues with the realtek drivers a while back.
July 5, 201016 yr Author 4.5.4 Pro-Thanks for your help-got me pointed in the right direction that it was hardware and not software.
