Mac unable to mount AFP share after 6.4 upgrade

As the title suggests, since the upgrade to 6.4 I am now unable to mount the AFP share on my Mac. The error message says "There was a problem connecting to the server <server name>. The server may not exist or is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection and then try again.". I am able to mount the SMB share, but it is incredibly slow (30mb/s read and write speeds). I did not see this issue before upgrading to 6.4.
