July 10, 201015 yr My first build from the ground up using the C2SEA mobo, Celeron 2.5 Core2, 2GB RAM, 4 1.5TB WD Black hard drives, all in the Supermicro 833T Rackmount Chasis. Turned it on, everything was fine, went to the web interface and started formatting drives. Everything OK. Went to run parity, everything was fine till about 50% through then I see that the parity drive is bad. Still no problem, just moved the drives around and removed the bad drive. Reboot...nothing....Now it won't boot, I get 2 red lights on the supermicro chasis that translate to 'overheat' and 'power failure'. There is about a 0 chance in hell that it is overheating. I have 4 5000 RPM server class fans and an active fan with heatsink on the CPU. According to the BIOS CPU temp is 'low' and when the web interface was working the drives never passed 32 celsius. I called Supermicro tech support they think it could be the power supply, but if it is the power supply why does everything appear to power fine (including the drives and backplane)? I am able to go into the bios and everything appears fine in there, but no go on booting anything. Also, just another point to notice, when the first time I turned it on the Lexar Unraid USB Stick lit up green, now it doesn't light up at all, and sticking it in my mac it blinks red. Those are the facts, please help. Thanks
July 10, 201015 yr Author Yes, there is a fan at the very rear of the power supply, it is on when the power plug is plugged in even if the system power is off.
