Been having issues with my unRAID.

it seems to boot fine and sits at the login promp after the samba start bit. i can log in, run top, ifconfig etc.

over the network it doesnt work, if i ping -t it spends approximatley 2/3 of the time timing out and the other 1/2 returning normal ping response, it goes in blocks, ie lots of ping then lots of time out not randomly.

this means i cant connect to the web ui, sometimes it asks for password then dies on Wiat/// othertimes it doesnt, depends if i happen to load it during the times that it responds.

Shares, not working, just timing out.

I have tried _every_ possible network hardware change (switches, cables, cards) and the results are always identical.

memtest does not detect any errors after 8 hours.

is there a command to log output to screen? as if it writes the log to the flash drive, i have no way of removing it from my current build without significant destruction to my flashdrive or cabling.

tail -f logile

will echo real time

are you sure there are no IP clashes i.e. two machines with same IP. likely not but worth asking

Yep that is what I would try

tail -f /var/log/syslog
