July 15, 201015 yr I have spec'd out a machine with an Atom 330 (Dual-Core), and 2 GB of RAM. Is a dual-core Atom strong enough to run unRAID effectively for 5-15 drives? Drives will be expanded via PCI express ports as needed. The board can be found at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182205.

I've run unRAID on a Celeron M 1GHZ and a Celeron M 600Mhz. It's more about I/O bandwidth, so if you upgrade with the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards you'll be good.
July 15, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply. I think this should be a low-heat-producing setup for my needs while still being somewhat affordable.
