Help, my unraid isn't showing up in my network

Guys, I just had my computer redone and tried to get the unraid online. Everything's connected but it wont' show up on the network.

When it boots up, I get some messages or rather, the text that scrolls by and although I can't see it all, I get some stuff saying something about errors or files missing or something.

One of them said something like this "HDIO get identity failed"

Any ideas?

Thanks

George

Hey guiri, I'm back in the states so I'll call you this weekend and we'll figure this out.  Don't worry about the 'HDIO get identity' error, everyone who uses the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 sees that same error, but it is harmless (your server has one of these units).

If you are impatient, you can try this:

On the server console, type in 'ifconfig' and hit enter.  It will spit out a bunch of stuff, but you only have to find one thing - the IP address (it will be something like 192.168.0.255).  Then on your laptop or workstation, open up a browser and type in http://192.168.0.255 (or whatever your server's IP address is).  You should see the unRAID web management page from here.  If you don't, then there may be a problem with your new router's configuration.  If that's the case, we'll have to work it out over the phone.

I'll give it a shot, thanks.

The dude that set my stuff up was a total dickhead!   :(

I'm tired of paying for service I don't get and as you know, I pay on time but most damn people don't deliver. Present company not included of course  :)

Thanks

Oh, how was the vacation?

Nope, no worky. It's at the place where it's asking for login and password so it won't let me do anything.

I Do think my router is screwed up 'cause I can't get online when connected with it. I just tested back and forth.

Also connected the server straight to the puter but that didn't work for me either. Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks

Are you saying that you are at the unraid machines console (keyboard and monitor) and the prompt on the screen is looking for a userid?  If that is the case have you typed in root for the userid and just a carriage return for the password?

That has nothing to do however with seeing the drives on the network, or accessing unmenu or unraid over http.

Alright, server is talking to the rest of the stuff (thanks Rajahal) but now it seems to be slow as hell. I think it's my stinkin' router but not sure.

This stuff never ends and YES, I kinda miss the old days before computers  :(
