Upgraded to Plus - Added Drive isn't visible

Featured Replies

After getting my unraid to work with the basis system, one parity drive and one data drive, I upgraded to unRaid plus.

I powered down and before restarting, added a new unformatted 1tb drive to my box. On restarting and accessing the management utility, it shows as unRaid Plus, with the availabilty of six drives plus a cache drive on the devices page. However, the first page only lists two drives under in the disk status box. Also, on the devices page, the new drive doesn't appear in the list to be assigned. It lists the Parity disk and Disk 1, but all others show unassigned.

I powered down checked all cabling and power connections and the drive is powering up. I ran through the mbo BIOS and the drive shows up as mounted. I even changed sata to a different mbo connection and moved it to the Promise pci sata board. It always shows mounted in BIOS, but doesn't appear in my unRaid management utility.

I'm probably overlooking something simple, but I've gone through the forum and can't find an answer.

Any suggestions?

Also, I've tried adding two new drives - both show in BIOS, but neither in my Management Utility.

Thanks.

unRAID will NOT take in any new disk automatically, you need to

(a) stop your unRAID first

(b) Once your unRAID is stopped, go to 'Devices" page, from drop-down menu you should be able to see this newly added disk.

© Assign this disk to uNRAID domain then restart your unRAID

(d) unRAID will take this new disk into protection domain once it finishes all necessary process.
