July 21, 201015 yr Unfortunately I don't have a test system on which to experiment. I currently make extensive use of smb-extra.conf to setup "fine grained" shares. Will I still be able to do this under 5.0? Thanks Mario
July 21, 201015 yr Yes. Currently the only difference between the 4.5.6 smb.conf and 5.0b1 smb.conf is the removal of the following line to be relocated into the smb-names.conf generated file. passdb backend = smbpasswd
July 21, 201015 yr 5.0 is a work in progress. I would NOT upgrade a server to it at this time.... it is really only for testing by people with a spare/test server available.
