January 22, 20188 yr Unraid 6.4.0 Ive added 3 disks to my array attached to a "HighPoint Rocket 640L Lite PCI-E RAID controller" when i view any of the disks SMART attributes i see " A mandatory smart command failed exiting. January 22, 20188 yr this might have to do with the ROM being setup in Raid instead of IT mode where the SATA commands are passed directly to Linux. Raid PCI cards take on these functions, you want to flash the ROM where its just a SATA hub.

January 22, 20188 yr that sounds like a good idea. The LSI cards are good but you need to either buy them already IT Mode flashed or have a second machine to do the flashing. they are a decent price.
