Your Favorite PHP editor?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for something to edit the PHP and help speed up my development.

Any recommendations for a PHP editor.

I'm familiar with emacs, but I have not considered loading it onto unRAID.

vi works, but I need something to help me get through it faster.

Maybe there's something small and lightweight on windows or linux.

I'll consider what ever is presented.

Thanks for the speedy response, I'm checking it out!

If you're looking for a Windows text editor I would recommend Notepad++.

It's a great tool for everyday text editing, programming, etc.  It's highly configurable and the base functionality can be extended with many different plug-ins.

I was playing with this just a short while ago.

I noticed it has a shell console window.

So right now I'm trying to install the barest essentials for a cygwin environment capable of building a slackware package.

If possible, a person could build the webgui app on the local machine and then do a post upload into the package directory.. (but we don't have post right now).

So ftp might be the way (with cURL)

Metapad as a replacement for Windows Notepad and Notepad++ for PHP - great combination.
