January 24, 20188 yr So ever since the 6.4 update my Windows Gaming VM decided to go completely haywire. I had to spend hours fixing all sorts of little things. Long story short, for over two weeks I have been trying to fix the sound. I had sound coming out of my Nvidia 970, but for some reason it was making the demon/screeching sounds like the MSI fix had not been completed. Using the MSI fix utility and manually trying to edit the registry elicited no avail. In a moment of desperation, even though it was intended for the chipset audio, this guide magically worked for me and my Nividia graphics card! Now the sound works great! So this post is for the frantic Googler who is facing the same headache I was. Good Luck to You!!
January 24, 20188 yr I'm going to have a go at stubbing my GPUs to see if it fixes my sound issues as well. Are there any disadvantages to stubbing GPUs Vs the standard passthrough method?
January 24, 20188 yr Author In terms of downsides I have not experienced any. I watched a full movie and have no noticeable issues. That being said I feel often that I don't know what I don't know in terms of VM passthrough in Unraid.
