cablecutter
Hey All, I'm dying... I need help. There's no perfect case for my neeeds! HW Specs: 8x 3.5" HDD's (don't care if I have to hack some more space or 3d print additional racks - just needs enough volume to hold them) 1-2x SSD or M.2 ATX or Micro ATX / AM4 / Tower cooler (for silence) / Full ATX PSU GTX 1070 GPU or similar / full size card Case Requirements: Shit needs to look GOOD and fit in - or worst case ontop of a salamander cherry AV rack (picture below) By look good, I mean clean face, metal. If I could buy a solid block of steel or aluminum with no features...except a power button - that's what I'd get. To go with the above - it should either be a horizontal or cube form factor. It can't be more than 18" wide, and also shouldn't be too much more than 15" deep. I suppose it can hang off the back a little bit, but too much and my OCD will start to flare. It needs to be quiet. And when I say quiet - I mean fucking QUIET!!! A little woosh is fine, but resonance has to be kept to a minimum. What I'm looking at: Silverstone Grandia 07 or 09 - http://silverstonetek.com/product.php?area=en&pid=330 ... Not sure why... I just don't like this case...And that's why it gets a low res image. Maybe it's because this case was released in 2012, has design issues (fitment with newer GPU standards / cpu coolers), and has not been updated in 5 years...That's just lazy. Lian Li PC 720 (a little deep at 18 inches - would prefer 16 max) http://www.lian-li.com/13633-2/ Streacom F12C - (sounds like it might be a pain in the ass to work on...and $$$ - But LOOK AT IT http://www.streacom.com/products/f12c-chassis/ So I need help. Probably in more ways than one, but for now - just help me find my case. Edited January 25, 2018 by cablecutter Quote Link to comment
boragthung
Have you looked at Fractal Design Node 804? This is a cube case with quite a bit of space and will fit 8 3.5 drives and 2 ssd's easily and depending on what else is installed you can put another drive or 2 at the bottom. Limited to microATX motherboards though. Quote Link to comment
