Motherboard that supports iommu and virtualization for AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black AM3

Featured Replies

The current motherboard that I have does not support iommu and I want to try to create virtuals user kvm. This is my current motherboard

M4A79T Deluxe

I need to figure out if there is a motherboard I can use or if it is time to give up and upgrade everything :(

Not sure that it's helpful, but in my old build, I had an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T running in an ASUS M3A78-T motherboard.  I had the same problem you did, I wanted to do GPU-passthrough, but the function was not available.

I also noticed that the system at idle would run about 125 watts.  My new Ryzen 1800X build runs 50-60 watts at idle, saving me a bundle on my energy bill.

I leave my unRAID running 24/7, your usage/needs may vary on whether these are enough reasons to upgrade.
