January 26, 20188 yr I have found other posts indicating that if I put a TXZ package in /boot/packages, Unraid will automatically install them. I realize that this is a last resort and we should be using a docker container or a plugin, but I'm trying to muscle my way through with least effort possible to get MKVToolnix on my unraid server since I can't get it working any other way. Is it still true in Unraid 6.4 that if I create a directory /boot/packages and place .txz packages in there, that they will auto install on boot each time? Edited January 26, 20188 yr by tmchow
January 26, 20188 yr Community Expert No, that was never true. The folder that gets packages installed at boot is /boot/extra. But this is not recommended and not guaranteed to be supported in the future. And as you know, there is already a docker for it. Have you tried the docker? If so, have you tried to get help with it?
