(UPDATED) New XFS Formatted Hard Disk in Unassigned Reporting Same Sector Error Running 6.4.0

Featured Replies

Hi fellow unRAID users.

UPDATE: If I issue the following command dd if=/dev/sdj of=/dev/null skip=151 count=1 bs=512, the sector is read and no errors are reported in the Disk Log Information.  Not sure where to go from here.

I'm running 6.4.0 stable.

I have a new 4TB gold (xfs formatted) drive that I get a consistent error in the Disk Log Information at the same time every morning as shown in the below snippet.

This drive is in the unassigned devices and I currently only run a manual rsync command to transfer data to it every couple of days.  Nothing else is using that drive except I guess the unassigned devices plug-in (Plug-in is up to date).

First I should say that I noticed the problems on this drive about a week ago.

Heres what I've done:

I ran the preclear on the drive a few times which did not report any errors.

I have ran the smart extended self-test which also did not show any issues.

I have also moved this drive to a different hot-swap drive bay to try to mitigate this issue.

Has anyone else had a unassigned xfs formatted drive mounted and showing this type of error.

I'm trying to determine if this drive is bad.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks.
