Guest Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 It appears that windows 7 doesnt like more than 4 cpus assigned. With hyperthreading enabled that would mean 2 cores. So, I turned off hyper threading and now can get 4 cores to windows 7 and the windows 7 vms boot. If I assigned more than 4 cpus no boot black screen. Just thought I'd share in case there are others that have a preference for Windows 7 over wintin
1812 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 try manually removing the topology line in the xml after adding more cpus. it "might" work. it's probably similar to some versions of osx, in that it only recognizes certain specified topology or no topology at all.
