Upgrading parity drive - red ball showing

Featured Replies

It's been a long time since my last drive upgrade. I followed the directions in the online manual. I assigned the new drive to replace the parity drive and started the array. The parity check is running, but I noticed there is a red ball next to the new parity drive. Is this normal during a parity drive upgrade?

Are you sure it is "red" and not "orange" ?

Post a syslog if you are still un-certain.

Does it give you a parity calculation rate? and an estimated time remaining for the rebuild?

It does give a rate and time. It could be orange, a very red orange. The colors in the manual listed green, red, yellow, blue and grey. Not seeing orange listed I just figured it was red.

I guess it was orange. It completed fine and went green. Things are going swimmingly. Upgrading data disk1 now. I love that I can access all my files just as if there was nothing going on. unRAID is great.
