note on 4.5 FTP - Access is open by default.... FYI

Featured Replies

A note on the built in FTP in unraid - its open by default to anonymous!!!!!

This was a factor in not being able to power down the NAS using powerdown :)

If you are running 4.5 you need to check this

I alternately added the proftpd (FTP server daemon)  using the :8080 interface and Pkg Manager and this seemed to knock the roaches off the network. Unbelievable.

Would suggest that folks disable FTP unless its specifically needed - Please add notes and comments

I was unable to confirm FTP login for anonymous - anyone know the default log / pass so can test?

Also - If someone more experienced could add some telnet command line details as to what to add to what where for both FTP installs (default, enabled in 4.5 -- or Proftpd using :8080 and package manager)
