Windows cannot access \\TOWER

Featured Replies

So, there are many posts like this, but none of them seem to have helped me so I'm going to post it myself and see if this helps!

On my network I have set-up a temporary unRAID test server, by using an old pc with a pentium and 4GB of DDR2 RAM.

The thing is, from my main gaming PC with Windows 10 I can access the webGUI just normally, both via IP and http://tower

But in Windows Explorer, its a different story, the tower shows up in the Network "area", but when I click on it it says Windows cannot access \\TOWER, and show details gives me the error code 0x80070035: The network path was not found.

I have tried all sorts of things, and yes the server is the Local Master etc.

I can access the server from my other Win10 PC just fine and copy files etc.

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I also tried mapping a network drive (location not valid) and just the IP in Windows Explorer

I'm having the same issue. Was you able to find a solution?

Yes, the problem turned out to be related to my version of Windows 10: Windows 10 Education.

I solved it by changing some group policy settings related to guest access.

If you need more help just tell me.
