Changing current User share to Disk share for hardlinks

Hi All,

Little help if possible, could not find any similar problem on the forums, ill keep it short and sweet...

Sonarr and Radarr use hardlinks however Unraid does not support hardlinks over User shares or Different Mounts.

So after a long think on how i can enable hardlinks, i formulated a plan..... after several HOURS of moving all movies and TV shows using 'Unbalance Plugin' to Disk 1 so i can use this only for hardlinks... How do i now change that user share (disk1) into a Disk share. Even after moving everything, Unraid user system will then send new files to different disks...

Do i change the current user share to select only drive 1? Like this 5a835d7c5a534_Shareproblem.thumb.jpg.9be0d388f082d05eb9f58c02564452b9.jpg

Or do i create a new disk share and add only disk 1 then hopefully within sonarr and radarr they will be able to hardlink? My only worry is, this disk 1 is assigned to a user share and creating another disk share using disk 1 will conflict?

Any help appreciated! Thanks

Solved the problem for anyone needing it...(probably myself in the future when i forget after a server crash!)

Hard linking within user shares is possible however you need to keep to one user share only!

For example -  /data  <-> /mnt/user/Torrent Downloads/

Then create your desired folders (Kids/Adults/Dogs whatever) in the same user share the /data is mapped towards which will be for this case /mnt/user/Torrent Downloads.

Radarr will then hard link across all drives within that ONE share not duplicating copy's.

 finally!

Thank you for this!  I was trying to figure out a way to get hardlinking to work over user shares. I'll try this out now :)

Edit: whoops, didn't realize how old this thread was. Sorry for resurrecting.
