Replacement Process for Cache Pool. 2 Drives > 1?

Featured Replies

What's the process for replacing a 2 drive cache pool with a single (different) drive?

Edited by IamSpartacus

Is the 2 drive pool raid0 or raid1? Do you want the single drive to be btrfs?

Just remove one of them, instructions are in the FAQ, difficult to link since I am on a phone.

Right now they are in RAID0.  I want to remove BOTH drives, and replace them with a single DIFFERENT drive.

Is there any advantage of using btrfs for a single drive over XFS?

Just stop the array, unassign both and assign the new one.

Only if you care about checksums and snapshots.

Can btrfs snapshots be used in conjunction with VMs or would one manage VM snapshots/backups a different way?

That's what I use.

That FAQ tells you how you can use mover to get the data off cache onto the array and then use mover to get data that belongs on cache back on cache.
