PCI it's very slow since the available bandwidth, which is already low at around 130MB/s will be split by all disks, don't you have PCIe slots?

 

If PCI is your only option that controller will work.

1. 1 x PCI Express x1 slot just found out it has one of these so that helps a lot got about £20 on Amazon is there any thing I could get

If 2 ports are enough get a 2 port Asmedia controller, e.g.: SY-PEX40039
