Broke user shares after chmod accident

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I accidentally applied chmod -r 666 / as root and I panicked and turned the power off. Now my user shares have disappeared from the WebUI as well as windows network.

Is there anyway I can fix this?

OK that fixed it. Didn't know about that tool. Thanks a lot.

That will fix the disks, and of course the other OS folders are unpacked fresh into RAM on each boot, but what about permissions on /boot?

Maybe it doesn't matter about /boot if only root accesses it?

FAT32 doesn't really have permissions per se.

It has the read-only bit so it isn't 100% without permission support :)
