March 7, 20188 yr Hi ... i'm maxing out on the 6 onboard sata ports on my SM X38SIA-F board (old i know) and need an expansion card. But, being a complete IT illiterate, i've no idea what unRaid or the board will allow? A quick spec of the board shows available slots as ' 3 (x8) PCI-E 2.0 (1 in x16 slot), 1 (x4) PCI-E 2.0 (using x8 slot), 2 (x1) PCI-E ' ... none of which are in use but which is best to use and why? I can see me needing to add an extra 4-6 drives (seagate 4Tb nas). Any help appreciated,

March 7, 20188 yr Yes, though I prefer buying used server pulls instead of possibly fake new ones from China.
March 7, 20188 yr Author Point taken. Would these cables be whats needed alongside a card? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/StarTech-com-Internal-Serial-Attached-SCSI-Mini-SAS-Cable-SFF8087-to-4x-SFF8482/380927681504?epid=175909275&hash=item58b10f23e0:g:gwwAAOSwDk5UJSOf Edited March 7, 20188 yr by superloopy1
