March 18, 20188 yr I just bought a new SSD for my unraid machine. My intention is to use it as a dedicated disk for games, which will be used exclusively by my Windows 10 VM. Obviously, it's possible to pass-through the hardware to the VM. I don't necessarily have any objections to doing this. But is there any real advantage of doing this vs. just putting a virtual disk file on the SSD? The latter option would have the benefit of access to the SSD from multiple VMs, which I'll gladly take if there's no truly noticeable difference in performance. Please advise.
