March 20, 20188 yr Hi All, I am very slowly moving my ~30Tbs data from my windows based server to my new unraid sever. As they are NTFS I am mounting them with the unassigned devices app and moving the data across via SMB share. Moving the large files I am getting 60 - 100 MB/s write speed which is quite acceptable, however I am trying to move my Plex meta data across which is 12gb's of very small files and I am only getting 10 - 40Kb/s which is going to take an incredibly long time. I understand smaller files will take longer however this seems extreme (transferring from the PC SSD to the drive took about an hour from memory). I understand I could zip the files however was hoping to avoid the couple of hours it will take to zip them up. Is this something to be expected? Cheers,
March 20, 20188 yr Author I just installed the turbo write plugin and am now getting 60 - 200MB/s write speed on large files and no improvement on the small files. The >100MB/s isn't sustained for a long period during the file transfer and averages back to 60 - 100MB/s.
