Warrentheo
Why is "Writeback" the default cache setting for new drives on new VM domains? I understand this to not be 100% bulletproof and would cause issues with random system power loss... Should we have this default instead to "Writethrough"? The fastest cache setting with no possible data corruption? Would like the option to select from the cache options on the advanced VM edit page... See this page for smarter people than me, and why IBM/Redhat defaults to "Writethrough": https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/linuxonibm/liaat/liaatbpkvmguestcache.htm Quote Link to comment
leejbarker
Hi, I've been looking into this and whilst I don't know the ins or outs or partially understand the merits in relation to performance gains, I found this article helpful. https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/virtualization/html/book.virt/cha.cachemodes.html Quote Link to comment
