March 23, 20188 yr Hello All! I'm new to Unraid and I've been trying to install some windows 10 VMs and passthrough my graphics cards to them. I'll list the problems I've been been getting below... Windows 10 freezes after attempting to install NVIDIA drivers Sometimes this will cause the tower (unraid) to crash Windows 10 freezes after resolution changes to full resolution of the screen (like it goes up from 800x600 to 1920x1080) This happens after window 10 will idle for awhile I cannot find the reason the resolution changes I have never seen my graphics card properly named on the Windows Device Manager It is listed as "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" I've done quite a bit of different variables and none have proven to be effective. Please let me know what you all need from me to help me solve my problem, thank you in advance. I'll list some more information below. March 23, 20188 yr In the unRAID webui, if you click on Tools tab, and then "System devices." Please copy and paste your IOMMU groups. Looking to see if your graphics card (0000:03:00.X) is in it's own group by itself (which is what you want) or if it's dirty (more than one device in the group). Just for clarification, you're only trying to pass one GPU presently, correct? (at least that's what I think I got from your XML)

March 24, 20188 yr IOMMU looks good. I'm at a loss, sorry to be lame duck. Perhaps some things to try for troubleshooting: Does it do the same thing if you pass through the second graphics cards (05:00.X)? What about powering down system and removing one of the graphics cards to test the system as a singular gpu? (I admit this falls under, "shouldn't effect system but...." cautionary category) Also, does the GTX770 have it's own vbios? If so, I didn't see that in your XML, which would explain the MS basic video adapter.

I've been trying to do that but 6.5.0 doesn't have the same layout as this video does (I think he is using like 6.3). 6.5.0 has a option on a VM called "Graphics ROM BIOS" which i've been putting the ROM files under. That hasn't worked so far and it's still displayed as "microsoft basic display adapter" and still unable to install drivers. Anyone have any tips or a guide on using this new features "Graphics ROM BIOS"?

Yeah. you just type in the path the vbios dump file is located at so for mine I have: "/mnt/user/domains/GTX1070.dump" /your/path/location/yourGPUbios.dump Everything else about the XML gets for the vbios file gets done for you.
