March 24, 20188 yr I'm sure this is normal, and it is covered somewhere, but I can't seem to find the info. I am wondering why there is such a large difference in size when files are transferred from my cache to my array? For example: I use sonarr to pick out a season of a TV show and it sends it to deluge Deluge shows 51Gb for the torrent which is how much (I think) is added to the cache.... the more I think about this, I don't know that I have ever checked to see how large they are on the cache.... Sonarr goes back through and moves these files to the season folder for said show, but in that folder it shows a total of 56Gb. The only thing sonarr did, as far as I know, is move and rename the file. So why the big difference? Especially if it is not including all the "extra" files in the torrent and just the episode files? I'm sure there is a simple, dumb reason I am overlooking here. Thanks! Edited March 24, 20188 yr by jebusfreek666
March 24, 20188 yr If any of the files are sparse (having blocks of zero data "stamped out" of the file), then a move of them could result in a non-sparse file that will consume more disk space.
