Initial configuration stops

Featured Replies

I have the drives installed and the GUI menu up with drives assigned.  All the drives come up with blue lights.  When I click on start, all drives go green except the parity drive, and the drives flash "mounting" until the screen refreshes.  Once the screen refreshes the initial configuration stops.

What could I be doing incorrect?  All of my drives should be good to go.

Sounds all correct.  Now can either build parity then start using, or if you have a lot of data to move first, then build parity.

Until parity is built (good idea to run a parity check afterwards to ensure), your data is not protected from disk failure.

On the contrary, it is necessary to run a parity check afterwards.  You don't know if your parity data can be read until you do....and unreadable parity data is useless.
