Won't boot unless I choose GUI mode, stuck on bzroot. [solved]

Featured Replies

My config is as follows: ASRock - H170A-X1, Celeron G3930, single 8gb DDR4 450w bronze PSU. I'm running 6.4.0. When I first started, I had an ancient ATI GPU (x1900) installed because I needed a VGA port and the mobo didn't have one. I removed it when I got a monitor with DVI, that's when this issue started.

I've been all over the Google looking for a solution to this problem, but the only thing that I've found helpful is the advice to boot into GUI mode. The picture attached shows what happens when I try to boot normally. It stays there indefinitely. Booting into GUI mode seems to fix it for now, but that's a band-aid and I know it.

Any ideas what could be causing this issue and/or ideas on how to fix it? Is there anything I've left out that could be helpful?

Solved, thanks!

Would you confirm unRAID not starting in background, i.e. access the GUI in remote ?

Indeed. I get a page not found when I try to get into the webui.

Same issue have some reported, but seems no followup or solution share.

People with ASRock motherboards may try this solution.

Funny enough, I went to do that this morning and decided to see if ASRock had a Spectre/Meltdown BIOS since I'd be messing with it anyways. Installed new BIOS, reset my fan curves, and now it's fine.

To my credit, I was on the most recent until earlier this month. Even if "most recent" was 2016, lol. Should it happen again I'll check the legacy mode settings.

Thanks!
