old unraid install, can't login, removing passwd doesn't help

Featured Replies

I've searched google and the forums and didn't find much on my issue. I walked away for a few weeks from a unraid install that I've been running and updating for a year. When I get back I can't log into the webui, even though I haven't touched the password in a year. Sounded like removing config/passwd should do it, (so I changed the file to passwd.bak) but it boots up with the same issue. I also can't ssh, so it makes me think this is a user level problem. I don't think the server has been compromised, as it's behind a typical ubiquity router, which doesn't have any port forwarding setup. I can tell it's operating normally, because all the dockers are still accessible, and the shares look like they would be usable, if I had a login that would work.

Any idea what steps I could take to find the root of the issue?

In  the   config  folder/directory, you also have to remove/rename the   shadow   file.
