Drive failure without parity drive

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, im kinda new to the unraid scene so forgive me if this is a really basic question.

I made a server with 3 hard drives: one 3tb, one 2tb, and one 500gb. I was going to put in a parity drive but before i could do that my 3tb one failed. Seeing as most of my stuff was on the 2tb HD i was wondering if i can bring my array back online, or is everything lost?

Naturally unraid wont let me start the array with the 3tb drive missing. I read about doing a new config but could not find how to do it in this particular case. I accepted that i will lose some (or all) data, but i was wondering if i could bring the server back online.

Thanks to all

Go to Tools - Diagnostics and post the complete diagnostics zip. You should always do this whenever you are seeking support.

Bad connections are much more common than bad disks. Most likely your data will be fine after you fix the connections. But post your diagnostics before doing anything.
