March 30, 20188 yr Hey guys, So I've been using a older AMD desktop as a unRAID server until we have the funds to build something nice, this is my first deployment of unRAID and there's an issue I'm having that I don't understand. No matter what, my cache drive keeps filling, and now it's at 95% and when I start the mover or leave it alone and allow the scheduled moving to occur, no content leaves my cache SSD to my 2TB array. No apps, dockers, or VMs are told to store directly in the cache, they all use shares. (The VMs use disk shares) My array is only at 1% and I'd like my files to find a device that's a tad emptier. Thanks, IoTNerd [UPDATE] Right after I submitted this, I started a move one more time. The cache SSD is now at 60%, but my array has only gained like 3GB on one disk. My cache is 240GB. I don't know if this info helps or not but I thought I'd include it. Edited March 30, 20188 yr by IoTNerd Update
March 30, 20188 yr Community Expert Any user share you want moved from cache to array must be set to cache-yes. The various cache settings are explained by the Help on the settings page for a user share. You can turn Help on for the whole webUI, or you can just click on the text on the page for help on that setting. A more complete explanation of cache settings is here: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/?page=2#comment-537383

Not cache only, or anything like that. Is this abnormal behavior or am I thinking it's an issue when it isn't? Edited March 30, 20188 yr by IoTNerd Needed to add a question
March 31, 20188 yr Community Expert Typically there should be a few shares that are cache-prefer, for those shares you would like to stay on cache. But that is not the current issue. Mover will not move a file that is open, such as seeding torrents. Are there any includes or excludes set in Global Share Settings? Possibly mover is failing in some way and we don't have what we need to see this. Go to Tools - Diagnostics and post the complete diagnostics zip, after trying to move.
