April 1, 20188 yr I just upgraded from 6.3.5 to 6.5.0 via the GUI and once rebooted I can no longer login to my server via gui, Windows actually sees it but when going to shares all I see is my flash drive (array not mounted is this issue, correct?). Three questions: How do I log back in (i cant even seem to get to a syslog) What is the command to mount array Can i reload 6.3.5 by writing over the top of my install on my flash, or even write 6.5.0 over the top of the existing os to get this working, wihtout losing data? April 1, 20188 yr Author Well I rewrote the bzimage and bzroot over the apparently botched upgrade and got it back the way it was, everything is working now with no issues. I think I will stick with 6.3.5 for now lol. but i going to have to install plex media server when i get a chance...another adventure. I was also looking around for instructions that included which files to get and where. But I will post that to the correct forum So I guess this can be tagged as solved (with many, many questions as to why the upgrade won't work) Edited April 1, 20188 yr by icedragonslair

April 1, 20188 yr Author Unless it is really, really important, meaning impending doom if I don't upgrade...lol I just don't seem to have enough time for now. I also only use dolphin (docker) and am looking into plex MS, which seems to be hit or miss on 6.5.0 when looking through the plex forums. I don't even really use a cache drive, as I set it up for app installs but only use these few apps. When I need to upgrade it I will make the time, but for now it runs great Thanks again, Ice
April 1, 20188 yr To be fair, 6.3.5 was a pretty good release in terms of stability. I needed 6.4 because of its support for 4Kn disks and, of course, the newer the release the more security issues are addressed. Docker seems to be problematic for some in 6.5.0 - so much so that it's reverted in 6.5.1-rc3.
April 1, 20188 yr Author Yeah, my server only touches the internet to update. I do all my metadata manually with software from my main PC. So anything that goes on or into my server goes through my pc which has pretty good security. It is a hassle, but I will say having two completely separate networks in your home is pretty nice Edited April 1, 20188 yr by icedragonslair
