April 3, 20188 yr Try doing a manual update: download latest release and manually extract all the bz* files overwriting those on the flash drive.
April 3, 20188 yr Possibly, run chkdsk on a PC, also try a different USB port, preferably a USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 not recommended.
April 4, 20188 yr Author chkdsk on Windows was OK, also on Mac. My USB drive (SanDisk Cruzer) does not support S.M.A.R.T. status, is that gonna be a problem? I managed to update manually, by doing as you told me, copyin the bz* files and overwriting them, thank you!
April 4, 20188 yr You did not mention how much free RAM you have. The upgrade process unzips the download into RAM before updating the USB stick, so a RAM shortage can make the upgrade fail.
